The Vulcans defeated Chaminade University 64-44 on Saturday in Honolulu to close their regular season. UHH finished 14-12 overall and 11-7 in the PacWest.

University of Hawaii at Hilo senior forward Hillary Hurley has been named the final Pacific West Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office today in Phoenix, Ariz. for games contested Feb. 27-March 4.

Hurley led the Vulcans to a 1-1 week by averaging 24.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per game while shooting 63.0 percent (17 for 27) from the field.

She led the PacWest in rebounding, ranked second in scoring, and was fifth in shooting for the week.

Hurley also shot 87.5 percent (14 for 16) from the line, and she led the league in grabbing offensive (6.0) and defensive (8.5) rebounds per game.
